Hi all!
Chinese New Year is over and a super long holiday break is gone too. And coming right next up is our second IGDASSC meeting on the 23rd Feb. Here are the confirmed details.
Venue
Singapore Management University
School of Accountancy/School of Law
Classroom 2-1 (Level 2)
Timing: 2:00pm to 5:00pm
Here’s what going to happen:
| Time |
|
| 1.45pm |
Meet @ SMU School of Accountancy Entrance |
| 2.00pm - 2.30pm |
Warming up session |
| 2.30pm - 3.00pm |
Upcoming Events |
| 3.00pm - 5.00pm |
Games Showcase and Interaction |
The highlight of the meeting this time is a game showcase! We believe that many of us have gems and nuggets buried on our hard-disk; so if you have anything pertaining to games development, such as your own game demos, prototypes, card games, board games, game concept art and etc, do bring them down for a time of sharing and encouragement! You don’t have to have something to show to come down too! It’s okay to just to come and see what’s going on in the local games development scene.
Please RSVP by sending a mail to extrakun@yahoo.com.sg to indicate that you are coming.
Justin has done up a nice brochure if you want to pass this news around to your school. Download a higher resolution one here and send it to your friends! Many thanks, Justin!

Sean Chan has released a rather unique and cute game and coincidentally, it meshes well with the theme of Valentine. So since this is the Valentine Week, it may a good time to mention it. It’s a rather short game but surely will bring lots of memories and stir some emotions. Head over to his site to grab it!

To commemorate the Chinese New Year, we are launching Freefall, our first Flash game from the IGDASSC. We are tweaking it and adding more, eh, features to it in the time to come, but right now it’s playable, it’s beautiful (thanks to Justin’s art!) and we will work to add more stuff in. Consider this our pet project
Oh yah, you can play Freefall by clicking here!

Hi all!
Our next meet-up will be on the 23rd Feb. Here are the details:
IMPORTANT: Please RSVP to extrakun@yahoo.com.sg. Or please post your reply to the Forum as we are having the meeting at SMU and the security there is tighter than other venues.
Date: 23rd Feb
Venue: SMU
Time: 2:00pm
So what is going to happen? We are going to have a game sharing session. If you have done any concept art for games, composed music for games-related stuff, did a mod (Neverwinter Nights, WC3 etc.), created a fun game (on any platform, with any tool), paper prototypes, card games or even board games, we want to see it! It’ll be a great time to share ideas, gather feedback, get tips from others and be motivated by each other’s enthusiasm.
We will be breaking into small groups, about 5 or 6, each with a laptop, so you can just bring down your stuff on a CD-RW, thumbdrive or portable hard-disk, even a laptop if you have one. Don’t worry; there’s no grading or anything, it’s just a time of sharing!
On the list, so far, here are the people who be showing stuff, and as you can see, it’s quite diverse!
Game Showcase
Justin (Game Maker)
Kun Xin (Director, Flash, C, XNA, Boardgame)
Sean (Game Maker)
Bruce (Flash)
We want more entries!
Please email me at extrakun@yahoo.com.sg and tell me what you want to display and I’ll arrange accordingly. Oh yeah, I am also giving away source code as well (for my games, at least).
IMPORTANT: Please RSVP to extrakun@yahoo.com.sg. Or please post your reply to the Forum as we are having the meeting at SMU and the security there is tighter than other venues.
