Hi all,
ExoroGame(tm) is a real-time business strategy game, independent of any luck and hence success lies in your own hands! This game teaches the basics of business and the running of a company, and usually a session would cost each participant around $50.00 each!
However, our friends at ExoroGame(tm) has kindly agreed to organise a special workshop for us at a cost of $12.20 per participant (that is like, less than watching a movie on a weekend plus popcorns). Developing games is one thing; selling them is another. So if you wish to find out more about the business aspects, do consider joining us.
We have room for 40 people, and we have to reach that quota
So don’t hesitate, RSVP now and grab your friends along!

Hello guys!
We are really honoured to have Mr. Theo Sanders, who is now the Director of Products at Razer and was a former producer at Blizzard, as a guest speaker for our next IGDA.SSC meeting. It’s an opportunity not to be missed!
The meeting will be from 2pm to 5pm, ending with an informal sharing session. Here are the details:
Day: 24th May, Saturday
Time: 2.00pm to 5.00pm
Venue: MICA Building (just behind Funan - Google Map Link), Esplanade Room
So what will be going on?
First, we have Mr. Theo Sanders, a former Blizzard Producer and who is now the Director of Products at Razer Inc, to speak on considerations on product design, especially for games.
Second, the IGDA.SSC will have a quick session on “101 Ways to Make Games” - you don’t need a $100 million budget to make games; this quick session introduces the different tools which allows you to quickly put together a game, as a form of hobby.
If you are coming, please go to this page and register for the event!

There is one additional slot for the XNA Workshop which will be held in June as I have so far received no confirmation email from the candidate. Please email me at extrakun@yahoo.com.sg to reserve your slot. To recap, this is a simple game programming workshop, aimed at people with knowledge of C++, C#, VB.NET or VB but has not done an interactive application before and would like to try their hands to speed-learn XNA.

Yo, by the grace of Bruce and Justin, “Freefall” our first debut game is now open-source, under the BSD license. You can download it from this forum thread (no registration required). The original game can be played here.
From Freefall, you can learn:
- Tile-based level generation
- Moving of avatar using mouse
- Scrolling-level generation
- Collision detection
- Game States using Flash Timeline
- A simple Flash game structure
So if you are looking for a Flash game as reference or to get started on, grab this one!
Note: IGDA.SSC will try its best to provide answer to question, but we are not formally supporting the game. Asking a Flash forum would be a better bet. We are sorry as we do not have the resources to support the game like a typical OpenSource project.

A shout-out to all who has indicated interest for the XNA Workshop. Please do email me at extrakun@yahoo.com.sg to confirm your slot by this coming Monday, 5th May, or else your slot will be considered open.
Lack of communication and feedback is considered as a problem for the Workshop as it is 50% online learning and 50% face to face coaching, due to the fact we are unable to meet each other face to face every day.

That’s right; the IGDA.SSC hosts student-portfolio website (until you are securely employed, that is
) The list of hosted sites actually include Wrdysym and now we have a new addition - AngelFether. As the IGDA.SSC site don’t use much bandwidth or hard disk space, we can still afford to host one or two more student sites. Remember that when your graduation is coming, or if you have cool stuff to show.

Hi all,
All the slots are already taken up for the XNA coaching class. This is primarily a self-learning plus once a week face to face coaching session, with online interaction through forums throughout the month of June. As explained, candidates are expected to know the basics of programming and data structures (at least 2D arrays!) and any MIA or radio silence will not be tolerated.
If this pioneer plan goes well, I may consider doing another round in the month of July, but keep your fingers crossed.
Expectations: This won’t turn you into a seasoned and pro game developer, but give you a leg up in learning an API from references, example codes, experimentation and rapid development, so that you can easily move on to advanced topics like 3D, vertex shaders and etc. Of course, if progress goes better than expected we may cover more ground.

Thanks to Xuanming (who goes by the nick Kougansharde on the forum) who have graciously taken up the time to do up a web banner for the IGDA.SSC. If you wish to link to us, you may consider using this banner. Also, if you are running a games development web-site which have resources for aspiring game developers and students, we would not mind putting up your link in exchange for you putting up our banner
Enough talk. Here’s the banner; gaze upon its glory! Many thanks, Xuanming!

By the way, we welcome any request to change the banner to suit your website needs. Just let us know via. the comments.
